About u3a

Founded in 1982, u3a (originally University of the Third Age) is a UK-wide movement of locally-run interest groups that provide a wide range of opportunities for people to come together to learn for fun. Members explore new ideas, skills and activities together.

The UK's u3as are split between 12 geographical areas.
Alnwick u3a is part of the Northumbia Region, and is also part of the North Northumberland Network.
About Alnwick u3a

Alnwick u3a currently has around 230 members, participating in some 30 Interest Groups, ranging from Archaeology to Walking. Details can be found by clicking on the Groups tab above.
As well as the Group meetings, we have monthly events open to all members, with a wide range of topics. For more information, click on the Events tab above.

About Third Age Trust

The Third Age Trust (TAT) supports over 1000 local u3as across the UK who, between them, have more than 430,000 members.
TAT offers Online Learning Events, free to all u3a members, including podcasts, workshops and courses.
All members may also take part, free of charge, in various projects, initiatives and competitions.
Finally, TAT also runs Interest Groups Online (IGO), an online u3a community that gives you the opportunity to join groups, talks and courses from the comfort of your home.
